January 28, 2026First G.M. Syed International Conference held by Jeay Sindh Freedom Movement

G.M. Syed was a leading proponent and ambassador of unity among oppressed nations, and his political philosophy remains a milestone in the struggle for national freedom. These views were expressed by speakers at the First G.M. Syed International Conference, held today in London UK and organized by the Jeay Sindh Freedom Movement(JSFM).
The conference was attended by a large number of representatives and participants from London and other parts of the United Kingdom, including Sindhis, Balochs, Pashtuns and Kashmiris.
The program commenced with the national anthem of Sindhudesh, followed by the cutting of a cake to mark the 122nd birth anniversary of Sain G.M. Syed. The proceedings were conducted by Tahir Khan.
Sohail Abro, Chairman of the Jeay Sindh Freedom Movement, highlighted Sain G.M. Syed’s historical role in forging unity among oppressed nations, including Sindhis, Baloch, Pashtuns, and Saraikis. He proposed the formation of a platform for unity among oppressed nations in the United Kingdom, a proposal that was unanimously endorsed by the participants.
Faheem Baloch, Foreign Secretary of the Baloch National Movement, stated that he considers G.M. Syed a martyr, as he passed away under house arrest, similar to Nawab Nauroz Khan, who lost life in captivity.
Ayub Mirza, a leader from the Kashmir, Gilgit, and Baltistan movement, said that after the partition of the subcontinent, the Pakistani state unlawfully occupied Kashmir, Gilgit, and Baltistan, and that these regions must be vacated.
Khurshid Baloch, Director of the Baloch Advocacy and Research Center, stated that the Baloch people have faced oppression since the creation of Pakistan, which continues to this day. He added that the Baloch Yakjehti Committee is being obstructed, and that these injustices will ultimately be answered through freedom.
Moin Khan, Representative of MQM London, said that Altaf Hussain had meetings with Sain G.M. Syed and emphasized that all stakeholders must move forward together for the future of Sindh.
Mansoor Ali Hub, Central Spokesperson of the Jeay Sindh Freedom Movement, said in his address that the federal system has deprived their nations of their rightful share, and that there is no path forward without freedom.
Imdad Ali Udho, Director of Radio Voice of Sindh London, recalled his early participation in Sain G.M. Syed’s public gathering in Khairpur as a representative of the Sindh National Students Federation, stating that he had personal acquaintance with Syed and that he was a great leader.
Shahid Khan Kakar, Representative of the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM), stated that all forms of rights of oppressed nations are being denied in Pakistan. He claimed that 80,000 Pashtuns have been killed, 6,700 are missing, and 5,700 PTM activists are imprisoned
Sarang Sindhi, Representative of Voice for Missing Persons of Sindh, said that the human rights situation in Sindh is dire. He stated that more than 100 followers and political activists of Sain G.M. Syed are forcibly disappeared, and that bodies are being dumped on roads.
Bibi Sherbano, a woman leader of PTM London, said that their elders were deceived with false promises made on the Quran, then imprisoned or killed. She stated that the time has now come to seek accountability for these injustices.
Kanwal Odho read out a historic interview of Sain G.M. Syed, published on 17 January 1991 in the daily Awami Awaz, in which Syed openly expressed his views on all major issues.
Muhammad Ali Nonari, Coordinator of the Jeay Sindh Freedom Movement Germany, said that they are conveying the message of Sain G.M. Syed, Bacha Khan, and Nawab Khair Bakhsh to the new generation.
Arrangements for refreshments were made under the supervision of Muhammad Osama Soomro, UK Coordinator of the Jeay Sindh Freedom Movement.
Qambar Malik Baloch, Secretary of the Baloch Advocacy and Research Center, attended the program as a special guest.
At the conclusion of the conference, the following resolutions were unanimously passed:
