The arrest and disappearance of JSMM activist Wajid Jagirani from Dubai is a matter of grave concern. We strongly fear that he may be handed over to Pakistani state agencies, where his life will be in serious danger. Wajid Jagirani is a peaceful political activist who has been tirelessly advocating for his homeland and nation with sincerity and dedication.
We appeal to the United Nations, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, the British government, and other international human rights organizations to take immediate and effective action to save Wajid Jagirani’s life. We also urge the Dubai government to prevent his extradition to Pakistan, as such an act could endanger his life.
Today, Jeay Sindh Freedom Movement will submit appeals to international organizations, urging them to take prompt notice of this situation, ensure Wajid Jagirani’s safety, and put pressure on the UAE government to refrain from handing over any political activists to Pakistan. The protection of the lives of Sindh’s national activists is a crucial responsibility of the international community.
