London, United Kingdom – The Jeay Sindh Freedom Movement (JSFM) has vehemently condemned the brutal abduction and torture of human rights lawyer Aamir Warraich, labelling it an act of state-sponsored terrorism perpetrated by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and military authorities.
Warraich had publicly vowed to lead a civil resistance campaign, including peaceful protests such as the closure of national highways and railway lines, if illegal canals on the Indus River proceeded. Shortly after this declaration, he was abducted, physically assaulted, and threatened by military and intelligence operatives demanding he cancel the protests and cease advocacy.
Chairman Sohail Abro stated:
“This is unequivocal state terrorism. Aamir Warraich’s sole ‘crime’ is his courage to defend Sindh’s land, water, and environmental rights. The ISI and Pakistan Army are employing brute force to suppress lawful dissent against their unconstitutional projects.”
Vice Chairman Zubair Sindhi and General Secretary Amar Azadi echoed these sentiments, condemning the attack as part of a broader pattern of militarised repression targeting lawyers, civil society, and peaceful activists across Pakistan.
